Check out this post about a poll from the Des Moines Register that shows Iowa Republicans condemning themselves out of their own mouths.
The poll asked Republicans whether Trump’s recent adoption of the phrase “poisoning the blood” of America—a resurrection of fascist racism from the 1930s—makes them more or less likely to vote for Trump.
I suppose we shouldn’t have expected a different result. 42 per cent say it makes them more likely. 29 percent say it does not matter. 28 per cent say it makes them less likely.
Take that in. 71 per cent of Republicans in Iowa are fine with fascist racism. And most of them actually like it! Nothing tells us more how sick Republicans are than this kind of self-revelation.
Before Barack Obama was elected, such racist proclivities had to be concealed. Politicians who espoused them would be expelled from their parties. Even Republicans knew how sick it was.
Now Republicans are the sickness, and most of them are proud to be the sickness.
Decent America can no longer let the sickness rage among us. Fortunately, we can easily put out this epidemic.
All we have to do is wake up on election day 2024, go to the polls, and vote against every Republican we see. Whatever the results of such an election turn out to be, one thing is sure: The Republican party will be completely rebuked, their minority hold on power will be broken, and the people we elect can finally set about repairing the damage done by Republicans since 1980.
Let’s just do it. Call four or five friends over the next months. Set up a time to meet at the polls to vote against all Republicans. Push back just a little against the excuse that nothing matters. Yes, your individual vote doesn’t matter much. That’s not the point. One drop of water does not matter much. But millions of them move mountains.
We are the majority. Let’s just get together and deluge the Republican rocks. Arrange a little “Saving America” party for election night 2024 to watch millions of our individual votes put a stop to Republican extremism and fascist idolatry.
It’s not a lot to ask, is it? Wake up a little early one day, crush Republicans, save the nation.
Seems like a good deal to me.
