Democrats won big in the 2023 elections yesterday. Even in Red states, they outperformed their own recent overperformances.
Listening to the pundits today, you’d think that this was all technical strategy and political maneuvering. But it really wasn’t that difficult to understand.
Decent America, the majority of us, sent two simple messages to pathetic Republican “conservatives.”
First, we are sick and tired of your pitiful minority trying to enforce your restrictive and cruel religious and cultural prejudices on us.
Second, we are done listening to your endless whining about how you can’t get your way. Your way is stupid or mean-spirited or bullying or hateful or worse and we won’t stand for it any more.
All the back-and-forth about Biden being too old or Republicans being too crafty or Democrats being too feckless or Trump being too powerful is beside the point. Decent America has had it with ignorant bullies telling them they can’t control their own bodies, they can’t let their kids get corrective gender treatment, their kids can’t read certain books, they can’t get served at “religious” businesses, they can’t vote if Republicans can figure out a way to prevent it, they can’t have decent government programs because Republicans won't spend a cent that doesn’t profit them.
We’ve had it.
Next year, we wipe the Republican party off the political map and start to undo all the damage it has done over the past forty years.
And there will be much wailing and gnashing of teeth—the delightful sounds of progress.
